“Reflections on Columbus Day from an Indigenous Scholar”

with Dr. Gabriela Spears-Rico

Since 1989, there have been movements across the US to celebrate Indigenous People’s Day, honoring the Native Americans, their history and culture, instead of Columbus Day. Dr. Spears-Rico, a cultural anthropologist, indigenous scholar, artist, and mother, will share her perspective and her experience with this movement, including participating in the protests in St. Paul MN.
