“Advancing Human Rights for Farmworkers – An Update from the Coalition of Immokalee Workers”
with Silvia Perez and Marley Monacello
Over the last decade, through the implementation of the Fair Food Program, the CIW has made major strides to improve working conditions for farmworkers at Fair Food Program participating farms. CIW representatives will update the UUUS congregation about the advancements that have been made and the work still to be done to expand these rights to workers who remain outside the Fair Food Program’s protection and who continue to suffer abuses including gender-based violence and modern-day slavery. They will offer suggestions on how UUUS congregants can participate in the on-going Campaign for Fair Food.
