Movie Summary She’s known it since she was a young girl when she would magically connect with distant voices on her father’s shortwave radio. She’s known it since college when she chose the search for intelligent extraterrestrial messages as her discipline. She’s known it since she bargained for just hours a week of satellite time to sweep the heavens for evidence. And she knows it every time she stares at the countless stars dappling the infinite night sky… Something is out there.
How this Works Using movies as the jumping-off point, we will explore theological and ethical issues. Appropriate for older youth and young adults. Movies may be rated PG – R. Some of the movies we will watch: Saved (between right and wrong), Bowling for Columbine (fear and violence in our society), Dogma (considering what we are called to do), Monty Python’s The Life of Brian (finding the strength to act), Star Trek – The Final Frontier (how truth is determined by perspective).
