Critical Thinking: 500 Years of Human Imagination

Continuing the theme of critical thinking, StoicDan and Ellen Hurwitz will introduce the conversation this Sunday on how poetic and artistic expression develops critical, spiritual and practical inquiry among adults and children. To focus on this topic, we will review “Ode on a Grecian Urn” by John Keats, plus some famous paintings from the last 500 years.

We will also review a program at the National Gallery of Art, which helps students develop their minds for real world issues. The National Gallery has created a 3-step process: observing, reasoning, and asking questions. When students are encouraged to review art, they comment on the depth and details, which helps their minds deal with complex issues in the real world. Please join StoicDan and Ellen Hurwitz this Sunday for this fascinating discussion!
