Introducing Pastoral Care to the UUUS Congregation 2006-09-22 (HTML)
If you can't make it on Sunday, you can hear the whole service (realtime) as a shoutcast. All you need is a computer that can open and play playlist (".pls") files. On Linux, Apple, or Mac. The simplest solution is to download for free the latest WinAmp or iTunes program. Access our Sunday morning talk at 10:30 AM on Sundays at http://itrebal.com:9000/ . Once you click on the link , select the "Listen" button, then open with your associated program, i.e., iTunes. If you miss the morning talk you can also listen to the MP3, which is normally online within one day; these can be found at http://universityuus.org/audio.htm.
Pastoral Care Volunteers :
If you're interested in becoming part of the Pastoral Care Team, we are interested in discrete, dependable people who could make a one year commitment to provide support and care to members of our Fellowship. They will receive 24 hours of training and will need to be able to attend meetings twice a month on Friday or Saturday mornings. The work hours are flexible and will average about 10-12 hours a month. Guaranteed: a fulfilling and rewarding experience! Call or email: Sylvia Friedman- JonDoc@aol.com
Care and Share:
The Pastoral Care Team has compiled our member feedback on the Care and Share forms and has produced a list of volunteers that our congregation can count on to share skills or time for the purpose of contributing to the well-being and support of members of our community. If you have not filled out a form, it can be found here- Care and Share (PDF).
The following is a list of members at the UUUS that have commited to help other members and friends. If you need general help or have pastoral care issues please call any member of the Pastoral Care Team. If you need a ride to church or to a doctor's appointment call your Neighborhood Coordinator. For other needs call the committee chair listed and they will find someone to help you, or the main church office at (407)737-4018.
