July 6th    Rev. Mark Spivey   "Mystery" (topic unavailable at time of publication….)

Rev. Spivey is a thanatologist with dual Masters degrees in Theology and Clinical Social Work. He serves Hospice of Volusia-Flagler as a Spiritual Care Counselor. He brings a wealth of human experience and humor to each presentation.

 

July 13     Jamie Powell    "The Power of Drumming to Inspire Everyday Life"        

World traveler and percussionist Jamie was in Ireland during the conflict when he came up with a program to achieve peace thru drumming. He has incorporated the wisdom of this program and brought it to youth programs under the court systems with success. He works with all ages to bring us all back into the natural rhythms of life.    Potluck Sunday

 

July 20  Harry Coverston  "Evangelical Cartoons- Good or Bad"

Mr. Coverston returns to speak to us on a chapter of a book he has contributed about the cartoons circulated on the UCF campus. He is a professor of Philosophy with a Masters of Divinity and a PhD in religion, law and society at UCF. He also has a JD and considers himself a 'recovering lawyer' and a sometimes active priest.

 

July 27    Beth Hollenbeck " Eco Action Canoe Clean-up"

Beth had an epiphany in her 30's and has been single minded in her quest to clean up the environment. She opened the Eco store in College Park, formed the local Eco Action group and celebrates the  500th canoe clean-up this month. She is a Quaker and speaks from her heart on the importance of local action in the effort to be more proactive toward our environment.
